Employing the same tactics as the original Omnia, Samsung have released a similarly impressive teaser video for its successor; the i8910 HD. The i8910, also known as the Omnia HD, makes history as the first phone capable of capturing video in glorious 720p high definition. Due for release in June, the i8910 HD is brimming with top of the range features from the amazing 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen display to the excellent Symbian operating system but the plaudits will definitely go to the amazing video camera capabilities. So how could Samsung possibly go about promoting this incredible feature? Record a video of course! Recorded using an i8910 HD with apparently no special effects, after shoot editing and all shot in one take, the video contains an excellent optical illusion that viewers must work out how it was done. Without spoiling anymore, take a look for yourself. Oh, and apparently it helps if you watch it in HD…

There’s no actual mirror, just a hole in the wall. The reflection in the mirror is a view into another symmetrical room which has been dressed in the same way as the original room. There are a couple of obvious giveaways: the two actors’ movements (especially when panning the room while facing the mirror) don’t quite match; and when they place their hands against the “mirror” their fingers don’t quite meet in the right place.
Great quality video though. My existing contract is up soon and I can’t wait to get this phone. It looks fantastic.

the jackets hang behind the girl are different, in the “live” room there is a white jacket with a red strip on the outside, in the “reflection” room there is a black jacket on the outside.

The stripes on the rolls of wrapping paper do not match up and when he goes down to his feet they aren’t in the same position as in the ‘mirror’. Also the plants aren’t the same.
