With Nokia, you always know where you stand. Want a no frills business phone? Eseries is the one for you. Want a multimedia rich smart phone? Then surely you want an Nseries phone. Music? That’ll be the XpressMusic range. And for everything else, there’s the traditional four digit range. Simple. At least that was the case, but now Nokia has been caught red handed filing for trademarks for two new ranges: Cseries and Xseries. What can we expect in these new lines? Well, for the time being at least Nokia is remaining tight lipped on the subject. So until the boys and girls from Espoo confirm exactly what it is they’re cooking up, let the speculation commence! With Nokia recently revealed to be working with Intel, could we potentially see a wave of phones sporting powerful processors going under the Xseries label? Perhaps the much rumoured Nokia Netbook could appear under the Xseries brand.

And what of the Cseries? Well, with Nokia’s main competitors (bar Apple) all working on 12 Megapixel camera phones, could the Cseries (C = Camera?) see the release of a dedicated camera phone? If you’re reading this Nokia, make it so! Coincidentally, Sony Ericsson both have C and X labeled phones with the Xperia range and the Cybershot range so whether Nokia plan to follow suit or launch two entirely different ranges remains to be seen.
