Nokia have a strong heritage when it comes to tough phones. Starting with the original hard-nut, the Nokia 5210, released back in 2002, through to the Nokia 5140 (and its slight upgrade the 5140i) and most recently the 5500 Sport; Nokia know how to put out a phone that can take a punch. But since the Nokia 5500 launched in 2006, it’s all gone a bit quiet on the tough phone front. Have Nokia given up on tough phones? Well, here’s your answer, say hello the the Nokia 3720 Classic

At first glance the 3720 Classic sits anonymously amongst all the other recent Classic Nokia phones; candy bar form factor, 2.0 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, expandable memory, all fairly standard stuff. Look a little closer though and you’ll see what makes it so different. The phone is specially sealed to keep out unwanted dust and moisture and the whole phone itself is made of rugged materials to ensure the Nokia 3720 can stand up to some hefty punishment.

While the Nokia 3720 Classic can handle wet, muddy and dusty conditions with ease (perfect for any one with a physically demanding job), the rigorous testing Nokia have put it through suggests they expect the phone to go 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Don’t believe us? Check out the video below, made by the official Nokia Blog, to show off the Nokia 3720 Classics credentials as a genuine, bona fide tough phone. And yes, the phone does manage to stay connected on the call the whole time.
