HTC Desire available to pre-order at Mobiles.co.uk!

Frequent visitors to the blog will no doubt be aware of how how highly we regard the HTC Desire. Having been introduced to the phone at last weeks Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona, we instantly fell for the device and literally couldn’t take our hands off it (much to the ire of fellow mobile enthusiasts). And now we can deliver the news you’ve all been waiting for; the HTC Desire is now available to pre-order at Mobiles.co.uk with first stock arriving at the end of the month! Want to know what makes this phone so…desirable? Read on…

The Desire is HTC’s in-house version of the Google Nexus One meaning what we get here is a stunning smartphone running the very latest version of Google’s Android operating system (v2.1 or Éclair for those still keeping count). In addition to the updated OS, the Desire (formerly known as the Bravo) also boasts HTC’s own Sense user interface which pulls in updates from Facebook and Twitter, updates your friends status in your contacts list, lets you upload photos to Flickr and offers seven customisable home screens. Add shortcuts, live web feeds and more to one of the home screens and flick between them or pinch on the screen to see all 7 screens at a glance.

Powering the phone is a 1GHz Snapdragon processor which ensures flicking between home screens, launching apps and opening web pages is ultra smooth not to mention great looking on the stunning 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen. Capacitive technology allows for multi-touch which enables such features as pinch to zoom in the web browser and maps and also makes for one of the most fluid, responsive touchscreen’s ever seen in a mobile phone. AMOLED technology makes for one of the brightest displays on offer whilst at the same time saving battery life and space allowing for the phone to measure a mere 11.9 mm thick.

Throw in a 5.0 Megapixel camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and expandable memory up to 32GB and it’s easy to see why the phone is an early contender for phone of the year. Available to pre-order now on Vodafone and T-Mobile, click here to check out some of our fantastic tariffs. With first stock expected in the last week of March, pre-order yours now to be one of the first to get your hands on the incredible new HTC Desire.

The deals you have on the site- they’re pretty good! Are they confirmed pricings? i.e. will we definitely be able to get the desire for £25 a month, with only £79.99 to pay?! That’s amazing if so!!!

  3. Dan says:

@Seb: The pricing on the site is based on anticipated cost prices, as such they are subject to change but yes, we do expect them to remain accurate. In short, the above deal you mentioned hopefully isn’t going anywhere.

Been waiting for your deals as bought my last HTC from you. Wonder if you could onfirm this confusing in one of your deals on VodaPhone:

“18mth 75 minutes Any Network Anytime + 250 Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport”

But, when click the Mobile Internet is states it cost £5 p/m. So is this on top of the £30 p/m with FREE phone? Thus £35 p/m with FREE phone?

  5. Dan says:

@Wayne – apologies for the confusion, the tariff is £30 per month as the internet bundle is already included in the price. It’s £5 p/m to add it on to a tariff that doesn’t include it as standard but this particular tariff already includes Mobile Internet.

I have pre-ordered the desire on the tmobile tarrif, can you say if the phones will be delivered last week of March or is it likely to be April.
    Cheers Elaine

  7. Dan says:

@Elaine – We’re hoping to receive stock around the 26th of March (tbc) and plan to start shipping as soon as possible so fingers crossed you could have your Desire before the end of the month. Keep an eye on the Mobiles.co.uk blog and we’ll keep you updated with more launch date information when we get it.

  8. Wayne says:

    Thanks Dan – Pre-ordered today.

Just hoping Vodafone lives up to expectations as been on O2 for years and signal not very good where I live. Never had Vodafone so thought would give them a try – just hope not made a mistake :)

    Looking forward to 1st Apr.

  9. Brian says:

@Dan 15/03 – Dan, you mention that mobiles.com will have handsets from 26th, will T-mobile be given priority over other providers as they seem to be shipping first?

  10. Dan says:

@Brian – We’ll be shipping on a purely first come first serve basis so the earliest orders (regardless of network) will be shipped first.
