The Nokia 8800 has started to lose a bit of its appeal. Sure, it still looks nice, but the battery performance is poor, and the range of features is not as good as it could be.

A jeweller in London has decided to give the 8800 a more exclusive appeal and has coated his model with a 24 carat gold plate sheaf.

Laban Roomes has been known in the past to gold plate car emblems, jewellery, even golf clubs. With a cost of around £800 the gold plated 8800 is another way to join that exclusive club: ‘People who have more money than sense’
