Has the recent Windows Mobile 6.5 launch got you green with envy? Are you enviously eying up your friends Samsung Omnia 2 as they get there fill of all sorts of weird and wonderful apps from Windows Marketplace as you soldier on with your HTC Touch Diamond? Well rest assured, Microsoft still loves you. Owners of devices running Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 can now download and install Windows Marketplace on their phones and get in on all that app goodness.

Once installed, apps can be purchased and downloaded directly from the Windows Marketplace app in the main menu. Alternatively, they can be purchased on your desktop PC and then downloaded the next time you visit Windows Marketplace on the phone. With the number of apps growing by the day, making them easy to browse was always going to be critical. Thankfully, Microsoft have hit the nail on the head with a clear easy to use user interface. At present prices are a little high on selected apps but as the numbers continue to grow, expect competition to drive prices down. Not got a Windows Mobile device but fancy getting in on the action?
