Even after talk that there would be no price cuts with the iPhone after the release of the device on Orange, it was obvious that once the iPhone had officially arrived on Orange, O2 were bound to be getting worried. And now to take some of the shine off the Orange iPhone app, O2 are offering three months subscription of Sky TV Mobile iPhone app for free.

This app, which has only just gone on sale, lets users stream all Sky Sports channels as well as Sky News and Sport News over Wi-Fi, for £6 per month. This fee can however be avoided for iPhone O2 customers for 90 days. All customers need to do is text ‘SKY’ to 2020, and the first 150,000 customers to do so will have the download promotional code sent straight to them.

With O2 offering this free app as well as free broadband, and Orange offering Unique apps for iPhone customers such as the Orange Wednesday, lets hope Vodafone will have some treats up their sleeves come 2010 for iPhone users.
