Nokia 6220 Classic 5.0 megapixel camera phoneMay 7, 2008 at 10:52 am by Jay | In Mobile News, Coming Soon Handsets
The 5.0 megapixel camera is the main focus on the 6220 Classic. The camera is equipped with auto focus, has a Xenon flash for better quality pictures in dark conditions and utilises Carl Zeiss optics, usually only found on high end NSeries handsets. Picture quality on the 6220 is as good as most mid range specialist digital cameras on the market today. With support for HSDPA Mobile Broadband uploading pictures to the web is a cinch. Upload from the mobile phone directly to sites such as Flickr, Facebook or your own blog. Thanks to the TV Out option you can plug the 6220 directly into a TV set and view photos and videos from the phone directly onto the TV screen. With the A-GPS functionality, pictures can be Geotagged – making them easier to search and share. Many sites these days offer options for pictures to be uploaded with location information tagged to the picture – Geotagging. The detail of your location is stored when you take a picture, and this information is shared when you store the picture online, so people can get detail of you location when they view your photos. The added benefit of A-GPS is it can be used in conjunction with Nokia maps, allowing the 6220 Classic to be used as a personal SatNav device. Away from imaging, the Nokia 6220 is a high power fully featured smartphone. Surprisingly for a top end Nokia handset outside the NSeries range, the Nokia 6220 includes a top class internet browser, native email client, MP3 music player, FM radio with RDS support and 120MB onboard memory. This is supplemented with support for micro SD memory cards, which currently go up to a capacity of 8GB. The Nokia 6220 is a Symbian mobile phone, running on the S60 operating system. S60 is an open system, allowing you to add further functionality to the handset with the addition of third party applications. Mobiles.co.uk has its own software shop, which can be found here. In addition to the 6220 Classic’s imaging capabilities; it also supports Adaptive Multi Rate –Wideband speech coding technology. This gives a more natural sound to the human voice in phone calls, and helps when having a conversation in noisy environments, such as in traffic, on a train or in a public place. The Nokia 6220 Classic is expected to be released in Q3 2008 and you can register here to be kept up to date with pricing and availability.
