Looks as though BlackBerry are this months Apple with more product leaks than you can shake a stick at. We’ve seen the latest addition to the Curve family, a new Storm and countless glimpses of BlackBerry 6 OS, but what of the flagship Bold range? Well, if this most recent leak is to be believed BlackBerry fans can expect an all new Bold in the coming months to boot.
The leak comes courtesy of Solomondrin, the self professed “007 of the phone world“, by way of a single image of what it is claimed to be the BlackBerry 9780. Whilst the Bold heritage is undeniable, cold hard facts are fairly thin on the ground. What we do know is that this all new device will run BlackBerry 6 OS, a whopping 512MB of RAM (double that of the Bold 9700), and the usual smartphone additions such as 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi.
It’s also rumoured that the 9780 Bold will also get an upgraded camera, boosted from 3.15 to 5.0 Megapixels (much like the recently leaked Storm3) though there’s no concrete evidence to support this at present. No official word from BlackBerry as yet or any indication on the final product name (Bold 3 or Bold 9780?) but be sure to keep an eye on the Blog and we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we know more.
