Android users across the land have been enjoying Cupcake for some time now but when there’s mentions of Donut on the horizon it’s bound to turn heads. No, we’re not talking about the sugary snack (though we are rather partial to a Krispy Kreme once in a while) but the latest version of the Android operating system. Yes, Android 1.6 is now available for developers to download, with a slew of new features that can be added in to future apps ready to be implemented. So what can we expect from Android 1.6? Will Donut prove to be the icing on the Android cake or will it leave a bitter after taste? Well, enough with the food related puns, who better to tell us than the friendly Android himself. The highlights include voice commands (ala’ the iPhone 3GS), user defined searches and a revamping of the Android Market App store. Check out the video below for all the info on the latest features Android 1.6 will bring to the Hero’s and Magic’s out there. Oh, and one more thing; where on earth is the Android from? What is that accent, German? French? Scandinavian? If anyone knows, please enlighten me.
