On2GoApril 7, 2006 at 2:34 pm by Jay | In Mobile content/servicesA new service launched by the Guardian, allowing instant access to the latest news headlines on virtually any mobile phone - free of charge. Once the application has been opened, it will automatically update with the latest news and sports headlines on subjects you choose when you subscribe to the service. There is no charge for the application or from the Guardian group to access the content. All you pay for is the data that is transferred across the phone network. Typically this is very low cost. The application itself is only 40kb, keeping the connection open uses 1kb an hour. Receiving a headline is 0.1kb and receiving a news story is 2.5 - 7kb. The average cost per MB on most data plans is £1 but be sure to check with your operator if you are unsure. On2go will not work on Three or O2 Prepay phones. http://www.on2go.com/index.html Bookmark at:StumbleUpon | Digg | Del.icio.us | Dzone | Newsvine | Spurl | Simpy | Furl | Reddit | Yahoo! MyWeb |
