Vodafone rework Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture with 1000 phones!

Here at the Mobiles Blog, we love a bit of imaginative marketing. Whilst usually the preserve of the manufacturers (check out Samsung’s past efforts if you need any proof), this time around we’re treated to a audio and visual feast from Vodafone. The premise is simple, using ringtones and text alerts from 1000 different mobile phones, Vodafone New Zealand sent over 2000 text messages to reconstruct Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece. The end result? A triumph of technology and imagination to create one of the best adverts we’ve ever (or should that be never as it’s not on UK TV) seen. Check out the video below to see the vid in all its glory. Bravo Vodafone, Bravo.
