Here’s the scenario: You’re out in London. You need to get a cab but also want to keep an eye on your pennies. What do you do? Simple, pull out your iPhone. New to the App Store, London Taxi is a new app that promises to calculate the cost of a cab ride, taking into account the distance of the journey, time of day and even what sort of traffic you’re likely to encounter. Created by former employees of Transport for London, the app uses the TFL Taxi Tariff to calculate estimates.
And while they are just that, estimates, for just 59p, the app is definitely a must for commuters and tourists alike. Just try not to show off the app to any nearby cabbies as they may not be so welcoming of the new arrival to the app store.
